Should I do the following for a leopard gecko?
I've had both. Both are actually really nice pets, both are rather slow, so they can be taken out of the cage and trained to sit in hand, ride on your shoulder ect... Now one thing to consider with a bearded dragon, they eat a ton of veggies as well as crickets. My leopard gecko, who i've had since I was 7, and is over 14 years old, still perfectly healthy save a few missing toes, has never touched a single thing besides crickets and worms. My bearded dragon on the other hand (who ped away at 10 years old) ate veggies everyday. You have to be sure their eating lots of veggies, and you have to be willing to change it out twice a day, so they aren't getting spoiled veggies. That's kind of a commitment. And just saying, leopard geckos are mostly nocturnal, and save a couple hours they come out to bask, they really aren't out during the day for you to observe. Bearded dragons on the other hand are out and about all day, so if your wanting a reptile you can watch and observe when your awake, you might want to consider this. Good luck!
