Cause of left side pain?

My husband has been hurting for a year and 4 months. left side under the ribs and toward the center of back. the pain is 10 or above. The meds he has taken does nothing for the pain. we have had xrays cts gallbladder removed. and colonoscopy. every text we have run comes back normal. this can not be normal. any suggestions. We are thinking about the mayo clinic. thank you
