Children in care ~ Do you agree that they need more support....?
Yes they do need a supportive adult who is going to be a part of their lives continually whilst they are in care. It does not need to be their social worker, just someone who shows that not all adults are temporary fixtures in their life. Imagine the impact on a child's self esteem of not being with their parents, being in a new place and possibly a new school and having to move foster homes. Add into the fact that they might not have the same social worker all the time. It would work wonders just to have a common fixture in their life, just to talk to.
