Best digital cameras for portraiture that isn't an SLR?

How about one of the new CSC's? That's what we call them in my shop in the uk... Another term is electronic viewfinder, interchangeable lens camera (or EVIL) lol. But seriously, the Sony NEX3, it's �400 here but if you can get them where you are... its great because it gives you full manual control, as the usual shutter/ aperture and because you can change lenses, you can get a nice, portraiture lens for it, and it's cheaper, smaller and fires at a faster frame rate than any SLR under �1000...
